Claude Monet's Bridge Over Lilies, Little Stone Mosaics

This stained glass artwork is a striking reinterpretation of Claude Monet's iconic Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies.

Inspired by the Impressionist master's 1899 painting, the artist has transformed Monet's delicate brushstrokes into a meticulously crafted mosaic of coloured and iridescent glass.  

Completely hand-cut, iridescent stained glass was used for the water lilies and foliage, creating a truly magical effect when sunlight shines on it. The shimmering surface adds depth and movement, mirroring the natural play of light that Monet so masterfully captured in his original work.  

For the water feature and reflections, various shades of purple and blue glass bits were carefully selected to evoke the enchanting hues of Monet’s painting, bringing the pond to life with subtle variations in color and texture. The intricate arrangement of glass pieces ensures that the artwork changes dynamically with different lighting conditions, enhancing its immersive quality.  

With a diameter of 3.5 feet, this stained glass mosaic is not only a tribute to Monet’s vision but also a testament to the craftsmanship and artistry involved in translating Impressionist painting into the luminous medium of glass.
