Sell Your Art
Goose Green Gallery is a unique art space.
As an artist, whether amateur or professional, if you have explored the possibility of exhibiting your work through a gallery before, you will know how daunting and expensive a process that can be.
Goose Green Art Gallery is different.
Rather than charge up to 50% in commission to sell your work, we aim to make the 'show and sell' process more accessible, more fair and more affordable.
We therefore offer a choice of ways to promote your art via Goose Green Art Gallery - physically, digitally or both but almost always commission-free.
The Gallery at Goose Green, Cheshire
If you've been to the Gallery at Goose Green in Altrincham you'll appreciate what a unique and special space it is. Situated in one of the oldest buildings in the town - originally workers cottages from at least the 1700s - Goose Green is described as 'one of the most distinctive corners of Altrincham, an oasis of daytime calm away from the town centre hubbub'. Visitors to Altrincham town centre walking along the main street may be forgiven for missing this hidden oasis, but those who discover its charms are rewarded with an eclectic mix of eateries, hostelries and of course, a unique collection of stunning original art.
Tucked into the northwest corner of the Green, between the rear entrance of The Tavern on the Green (whose front entrance is on Stamford New Road) and the recently opened South Asian BBQ restaurant 'Gharrana', Goose Green Art Gallery shares this quiet corner with a number of cafes, bars and restaurants. Consequently, the many gallery windows facing the 'green triangle' are overlooked by many thousands of visitors each year as they sit out and eat and drink.
The Gallery displays original art collections over two floors, both on the ground floor and up the open staircase gallery (itself a 'single' display space, available for fixed-term exhibitions) to the first floor. Upstairs, Chinese art specialist and educator Sofia Lu occupies a bright corner of the first floor, where she offers specialised art classes in calligraphy and painting, teaching drawing to children aged 5-16.
The newly refurbished first floor is also home to the works of renowned artist David Kaitiff..
Exhibition Space
The main window on the ground floor is a valuable asset to the gallery, as its changing display offers a constantly revolving choice of visual delights for patrons in the Green. Naturally, rental space in the Gallery window is charged at a premium but it is one of the rental options available to exhibitors.
Wall space in the gallery is also limited but can be rented on an affordable monthly basis. We believe our fixed-cost alternative to high commission charges encourages more sales, as prices need not be inflated to cover sales fees.
Online Gallery
In addition to exhibiting your work in our Gallery, we also offer promotion space on the Gallery website - take a look at the Collections page to see the space on offer.
Whether you have one piece for sale or a collection of hundreds, we can create a dedicated Artist page for you, with images of your work, prices and information, enabling your work to be promoted world-wide via our growing network of collectors and dealers.
