John Trowsdale

A Manchester based artist, John has been creating paintings for as long as he can remember as a self-taught artist, along side a printing career. This was until 2020 when he gave up a good living to become a full time artist, a lifetime ambition. The need to create art and feel that achievement when signing off a new piece of artwork is his life-blood. It has been a rocky road he's chosen for sure, but worth every minute of every day. When someone loves his work enough to want to look at it everyday on their walls, is for him the ultimate compliment.

Motivation to capture the landscapes and seascapes around the UK and beyond in oil paintings comes from his love of the outdoors and a passion for creating art that tells a story of personal experience. Bringing a landscape scene to life in rich colours and fine detail for the viewer to connect with is one of John's main goals. He was rewarded for this attention to detail when he received recognition as runner up in 'Art Show International 2022'.

​Many of his paintings have taken several weeks of brush work to complete, building up fine layers of oil paint and texture in a process he follows to create depth in his art. ​

Since 2020 when John had his first display, he has been fortunate and successful in exhibiting work in a number of galleries including D31 Doncaster, Saul Hay Manchester, Mall Galleries London with the Royal Society of British Artists. And now at Goose Green Art Gallery, Altrincham.
