Sue Goulding is a Expressionistic Artist who works in Inks primarily but also other mediums. Her technique Is very identifiable in all her works. Loose gestural
Marks allowing conversation between herself, the Variety of tools used and the medium to speak.

“I live in County Durham and I love communicating through visual arts wonder moments inspired by my local surroundings sights and nature Using a variety of inks on paper and canvas is a pure joy I love the fluidity ,unpredictability in using the inks and the building process involved in the manipulation of the ink into the image being created.”

When out walking with her Retriever “Wilfie” visiting places in the beautiful North East Sue takes photos and records in her sketch book Sights smells and sounds of nature  that captivate  her  attention and then use these to inspire and compose her images.

“I use a variety of applicators including bamboo nibs ,sticks and brushes to portray my experiences in the images that emerge through using a variety of techniques.This adds an extra uniqueness and demonstrates an emotional sound in every piece . This sound is where I feel freedom ,fulfilment,  oneness  as my visual voice becomes seen through colour shapes and images that appear.”

Her marks are described as loose ,gestural ,free and expressive conveying feelings of  excitement and surprise as the relationship between her and the medium becomes a conversation through the process.

“The artistic voice in my painting I recognise is strongly influenced by my past career.
I used to be a teacher for children with complex additional needs and learning through feeling and experiencing the world around us through all of our senses and our own unique response was a hugely significant to me the children and the families I worked with as an educator and a human being .This impacts heavily on me as an overall communicator and that desire to share in the moments with others.”

Now after studying Art History Drawing and Painting through the University of Creative Arts (Open College of Arts) Sue works from a home studio . “I love to fill my days with exploring, sketching, taking photos and painting “. Her works can be viewed in a local gallery (Bob Abley, Spennymoore), various exhibitions, Elvet and Bailey shop Durham for prints and  Private Commissions are  available .Her developing artistic journey can be followed on Instagram. “There is so much more to learn and discover and experience . I really enjoy sharing my creative adventures with others and sharing in theirs My overall desire is that viewers will feel Uplifted, Inspired and Be in the painting Their own Wondermoment”.
