Susan Brazendale Fine Artist
Susan is a contemporary painter whose practice centres on
the exploration of texture and colour within natural
landscapes. Focusing particularly on shorelines, rock
formations and forest environments, her work examines the
physical and atmospheric qualities of these settings.
Through layered surfaces and considered mark-making, she
evokes the erosion of stone, the movement of water and the
density of wooded spaces. Her paintings are not always
literal representations, but rather measured interpretations
that convey the sensory and emotional experience of
immersion in nature.
Working primarily in oils, she approaches each piece with
both observation and creative inspiration, allowing material
process to inform the final composition. The resulting works
offer a contemplative engagement with landscape,
grounded in surface, depth and tonalality.
