RADKA — ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Radka is a Czech-born contemporary artist based on the Fylde Coast in the United Kingdom. Her richly layered paintings explore transformation, memory and the mysterious spaces between what has been and what is still becoming.

Her journey into art has been one of persistence and return. Growing up in communist Czechoslovakia, Radka hoped to attend art college, but rejection closed that path to her at the time. Although life took her in other directions, the need to create never disappeared. Years later, she returned to art with renewed purpose, gaining a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and completing her MA in Fine Art in 2026.

Radka’s earlier practice centred primarily on the human figure and portraiture. Over time, her figures became less defined, gradually dissolving into colour, texture and atmosphere. This development led naturally towards abstraction and to her current research into transformation, liminality and becoming. Her figurative works remain an important part of this journey, revealing the origins of her continuing fascination with identity, emotion and the stories held beneath the visible surface.

Working primarily with acrylic paint and mixed media, Radka builds atmospheric surfaces through layers of colour, expressive marks, texture and occasional fragments of gold. Her abstract and semi-abstract paintings often suggest gardens, pathways, thresholds and half-remembered landscapes-places that feel familiar without belonging to any specific location. Rather than describing a scene literally, she invites viewers to enter it emotionally and discover their own memories and meanings within the work.

Radka’s work has been exhibited in London and across North West England, including the Untitled Artists Fair in Chelsea and will also be shown internationally in Prague. Her paintings are individual original works for collectors seeking art with atmosphere, emotional depth and a distinctive sense of presence.
