I have always produced art as long as I can remember. After school I studied Textile Design at the Scottish College of Textiles and, after graduating in1974, I worked for a number of companies including John Smedley and Viyella with designers such as Jeff Banks and Mary Quant. In 1984 I was appointed to a lectureship at UMIST teaching textile design. After 28 years at Manchester University I retired and this has enabled me to spend more time creating art. Passionate about the positive aspects of art I have published a book Fun Art For All.

From producing paintings using acrylics and spray paint, to work developed on the computer (digitally manipulating my photographs) my work is inspired by serendipity  and the unexpected.

I am inspired by the unexpected in nature and the built environment. Fascinated by repetition and repeating patterns, nearly all my work is now produced as squares. These are often sets of images which can be displayed together or combined into collages.

As my work is digital, I am able to produce customised prints on both paper and canvas.
